Hair Sabo Day

I've been curious about this 'EC HOUSE' in Bukit Panjang Plaza. I checked it out in the net. I then knew it's a barber shop getting known for offering a haircut in just 10 minutes or less here in Singapore. Cool isn't it? It's a lot different from Rona, (mas kilala siya bilang 'Beth Tamayo' sa gabi HAHA) my hairstylist (susyal, na 2 oras gumupit, sheecks, as in. sinasadya ata talaga eh).

Anyhoo, one day, with all guts, I decided to try and get my hair done in this barber shop hoping that it would seek justice into my long hair. As I queued, I saw the patrons getting their hair done. It took me around 2 minutes to realize... "Oh my goodness! Standard ata ang gupit dito! Ano to? C-A-T? R-O-T-C?" Yeah, really, I was taken aback when I saw their hair cut. That time I wished I haven't paid yet, as I was to back out (parang tutuliin lang ano?); but it was too late (parang vending machine kasi ang bayaran d'un, kaya 'di na pwede bawiin).

Then it was my turn. Well, good thing I stacked a picture of myself still sporting a short hair inside my book (I usually bring a book when having my haircut, kasi nga 2 oras kay Beth). I asked the auntie, "Auntie, I want this cut. Like this(sabay turo sa picture)". Sabi naman niya, "Oh okay, short hair lah, you long hair now ah, when did cut last time ah?" (At this point everything is calm) Then I just laughed, "Heheh. Okay Auntie".

Suddenly...

Pambihira. In 10 seconds, I lost my patilyas on both sides and in 1 minute I lost my 'long back' (uso sa high school 'yun!). (At this time, I was in a state of indignation), good thing I kept it to myself and just asked auntie, "What happened lah?" "Trust me, okay?", she said with outmost confidence.

After 10 minutes, 'eto na nga ang resulta.

BEFORE and AFTER

'Di ba dapat masaya 'yung picture sa after? Bakit parang naluging bumbay? Hay. :(

HAHA. :( :( :(

O 'di ba? Pwede na akong double ni gerald. BWAHAHAHA.

Cover-coveran :)

Hello everyone!

Just a quick one before I borrow books from the community library. Here's I'm Yours by Jason Mraz. Yeah, a lot of people did a cover on this song already; but, why not give it a try as well? HAHA. Well, hope you like my version (although it's the kinda same with the original). HAHA. By the way, I really like the hat, and I feel like wearing it everytime. HAHA. Here you go:

Meeting new Singaporeans Friends :)

It has been an exhausting day; traveling from Bukit Panjang (where our flat is located) to Paya Lebar (where Heart of God Church is, the picture below). Considering the travel distance if I were to compare it in the Philippines, it's like traveling from Tondo, Manila to Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Whoa. However, it may seem really far but with comfy and cozy bus and train rides, no sweat for me.

I met and became acquainted with a lot of Ahia Tim's (the guy on the right) friends in the Church. Surely it has been a blast; literal: kasi naman, sa totoo lang, napagod ang bunganga ko sa kaka-ingles, walang choice eh. HAHA. But on the brighter side, I get to practice my english communication skills conversing with them. Haven't done that in a while. HAHA. I wish I could let you guys see them, but unfortunately -although I brought my brother's camera, I was too timid to take pictures with them. I didn't know why. HAHA. I still have around two weeks more to accomplish that, though.

I just realized as well that I have the weakness of memorizing names, lalo na 'pag Chinese names. HAHA. Good thing other Chinese people that I've met have their Western names, making things lighter for me, I guess. HAHA. Ponching. Obvious ba? When they saved my contact number, they even spelled my name as Pon Ching. HAHA. Chinese na Chinese ha?

Most of the Singaporeans I've met were also around my age, ranging from 20-24 years old. Although I'm one year younger than them, most of them are on their freshmen year in universities; making them surprised when they asked me which university am I planning to consider. Sabi ko kasi, "I just obtained my bachelor's degree". Whoa. Feeling lang naman, pagbigyan ninyo na. Aside from a longer primary and secondary school curriculum compared to ours, they are also required to undergo two years of national military service(wow!); which explains the age gap when entering a university.

Anyway, after the fruitful service, we ate in the ever famous Singaporean type of our Carinderia, "Kopitiam". While eating and chatting, Marcus, who just completed his 2 year military service and plans to enter law school as well asked me, "what is the difference between the judicial system in Singapore and in the Philippines?" "HUH?" Sa isip ko. Wow. Q and A portion. HAHA. Tapos flashback ---- Naku, paano ko sasagutin to? HAHA. Sabi niya "wow, you really now what you're talking about." HAHA. WHEW! YEHEY! Nagkwentuhan pa kami tungkol sa Pilipinas atbp. After eating, since most of the are taking up discipleship classes, I decided to go home. :)

New Year, New Blog. Hurray!

Ahoy everybody! :)

What's the best thing to start a new year? Start a new blogsite? Not really; but a good idea, still. This is my third blogsite which I am hoping wouldn't be just a flash in a pan like my two other weblogs. If you guys want to take a look of which I'm referring to, the first link on the left side will bring you to my blog which I started in high school, (yeah, I'm an early netizen blogger) and the other to my semi-college blog, which included some of my artsy fartsy articles regarding problems about love. HAHA. Who cares? I was in my adolescence stage; everyone goes through that. HAHA.

Anyway, if you are proverbially inquisitive on why I chose to name this blogsite with a four letter word that refers to a reflex that expels intestinal gas through the ~toot~ but; but; but well, I really don't know. I had a hard time naming this blog. HAHA.

Talking about naming blogs, I actually formulated a theory on how people name their blog. HAHA. Disclaimer first: this is not to make fun of other bloggers, this is purely from my own observation and c'mon, 'wag na KJ. HAHA. Game?

Format 1: Highfaluting words are used leading the readers googling the meaning first.

Format 2: _______ of a/the ________. A simple format aye? Can you think of any? Titles like "Ramblings of a Professional Bummer", "Misadventures of the Kamote King" etc. are some examples under this category.

Format 3: A one-word title. It's that simple. Like my title. HAHA. To be more creative, perhaps add two to three more phrases as subtitle to support the hefty title. Parang sa startalk. Gets?

Format 4: Incorporating the name of the blogger to another word to form a better, yet unique word, like: Ponching + Terrific = Ponchirrifiic or Ponching + Fantastic = Ponchtastic. Oooh, sounds creepy. HAHA.

Other insights are welcome, if you have more to add, comment na!

Well guys, that's it for now. Glad you visited my new site. It's 2am here and I need to sleep. Cell regeneration starts at 9pm :( Too late. HAHA. Goodnight people!

God bless you! :)
